Women use digital health applications – DiGAs for short – more frequently. At 70%, the proportion of women using DiGA is significantly higher than that of men (30%). Across genders, the 55 to 59 age group accounts for the largest proportion of users, followed by the 50 to 54 age group. 58% of respondents rate their DiGA as a useful addition to their therapy. Almost nine out of ten of the “apps on prescription” used were prescribed by a doctor – 11% were approved directly by the health insurance companies. 37% of doctors have now gained experience with digital health applications. This is according to McKinsey’s E-Health Monitor 2023/24.
