In its DiGA report for the period from September 1, 2020 to September 30, 2022, the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds (Spitzenverband Bund der Krankenkassen – GKV-Spitzenverband ) calls for adjustments to the legal framework to make digital health applications accessible to all people with statutory health insurance. The SHI providers criticize the fact that the health insurance funds are forced to pay manufacturers’ prices at any level, with maximum and threshold values being set in October 2022. Stefanie Stoff-Ahnis, board member of the GKV-Spitzenverband, is annoyed that the positive effect of DiGAs in the trial phase has not been proven, but that they are still reimbursed. It also demands that “information on the actual use of the DiGA should be made transparent by the manufacturers and (should) be taken into account in the remuneration”.
