The SVDGV believes that the importance of the still young healthcare sector of digital health applications is not presented neutrally in the report of the GKV-Spitzenverband. Thus, the lack of evidence of DiGAs would be criticized without mentioning the strict entry requirements for each DiGA, which already make a first study mandatory. Dr. Anne Sophie Geier, Managing Director of SVDGV, continues: “The current DiGA report of the GKV-SV shows a politically motivated interpretation of data and serves the goal of being more closely involved in the approval process of DiGA. The sweeping criticism is unfounded and DiGAs are an increasingly important pillar of care: the number of prescriptions and approvals for DiGAs tripled last year and the feedback from practitioners and patients is extremely positive.”
