Two DiGA providers explain how they integrate health data from wearables into their products: Oviva Direkt for obesity does not offer a direct connection to smartwatches or fitness trackers – but it opens up the possibility for its patients to incorporate desired health data from their wearables into the DiGA app via aggregators such as Apple Health or Google Fit, for example the number of steps or sporting activities. The somnio sleep app from mementor, on the other hand, can be connected to activity trackers such as FitBit, Polar, Garmin, Withings or Apple. Ten percent of their users would use this option. Research is still being carried out into whether wearables may also be able to act as trackers for monitoring mental health in the future – for example, stress or panic attacks. LINK
