1. Since when are you a part of fluidmobile and what exactly do you do here?

I started Feb 17th, 2020 as a Mobile Developer working with the Android team.

2. What did you do before?

I was a specialized electrician in the US Navy where I served on an aircraft carrier in Japan and then on a small patrol ship in the Persian Gulf. Afterwards, I was a maintenance electrician at a Ford parts assembly plant in Detroit where I would fix various machine and robotic failures. In the meantime, I decided to change career paths and pursued a degree in Mobile Development from Full Sail University. Super glad I did.

3. What fascinates you about your work?

It fascinates me how big ideas can fit in your pocket. More and more Apps are becoming a part of us. They make our lives easier and bring us together. I enjoy being part of this technology. I love the challenges and problem solving involved with mobile development. It is very rewarding when you can create and get something to work exactly how it was envisioned. I also love the willingness of developers to bounce and share ideas off of one another; this is where magic happens.

4. Which three apps could you not live without?

Apple’s Clock App is my #1 because I don’t have a rooster to wake me up… some day..
Google Maps

5. How would you explain to your grandma what you are working on here?

I would sit down with her to enjoy a piece of her cheesecake and instead talk about her garden because I’m sure she wouldn’t even know what an app is.

6. What is one thing you for sure want to do in your lifetime?

Experience Zero Gravity.

7. Fraction coffee or fraction Club Mate?

8. Rather iOS or Android?

Don’t want to make any enemies… but I will say I own an iPhone. 🤫

9. What do you like to do once you’ve closed the office door?

3D print useful things that make my life easier or produce electronic music.

10. What else should we know about you?

When summer comes I like to brew ginger beer with various seasonal berries.

Welcome to the Fluidfamily, Michael!
